Sponsor an Artist

To facilitate the 2010 UK Arts and Culture Tour, Lajee Center still needs to raise a substantial amount of money. Various people across the UK and elsewhere are already helping, but there is a long way to go.

In an attempt to raise some of these costs, Lajee Center is launching a ‘Sponsor an Artist’ fundraising project.

I don’t know what I expected, but I was surprised that in the Lajee volunteer community I felt completely and immediately accepted for who I was, both personally and as a member of the aforementioned groups.

 Dear Friend,
 Over the past seven weeks, an eclectic bunch of refugee youth      from Bethlehem’s Aida
Camp have been involved in an English language pod-casting project called ‘Radio Lajee’.
http://www.radiolajee.com aims to provide the youth with the skills and tools
necessary to tell their stories, their way to the western, English-speaking world.

Perhaps it was a blessing in disguise that only a
small number of internationals came, because
this lead to the decision to invite 27 children from
Lajee Center, between the ages of 12 and 15, to
participatein the Camp, and this was undoubtedly
one of the highlights of our experience.
