'Broederlijk Delen' and Lajee Center Form Partnership

 Laje’oon Center and Belgian NGO Broederlijk Delen (www.broederlijkdelen.be) this week signed a contractual agreement confirming further support for ‘Our Voice – Refugee Youth Magazine’. Lajee Center signs contract with EU for West Bank-wide project producing Re...

Today, on December 11th 2008, the day that marks the 60th anniversary of the issuing of United Nations Resolution 194, we at Lajee Center would like to officially announce an exciting step in our work for Refugee Rights. We have signed a three year contract with the European Union for one of our most exciting projects to date which will see us bringing together young refugees across the West Bank to produce an ongoing magazine raising a collaborative voice of refugee youth.

The Chinese Ambassador Visited Lajee Center
In his tour in Bethlehem city, the Chinese ambassador visited Lajee center last week. His visit was organized earlier this month and Lajee Center was chosen among other Palestinian organization as an active cultural center for children and youth.

The 60th anniversary of Nakba
Refugees are the people at the center of al-Nakba, the Palestinian word for the events of 1947-48, which led to the dispossession and displacement of more than 750,000 Palestinians.  Neither they nor their descendants were ever allowed to return to their homes.  Sixty years later, the voices of refugee youths are a testament to Palestinian creativity and perseverance in the face of on-going crisis
